Print Technologies
J&A was established by putting ink on paper. Although that remains the mainstay of our business, and the end result is still exceptional reproduction, the steps from beginning to end have changed extensively, and continue to do so.
One thing is for certain - J&A has continually reinvested in itself to utilize the latest and finest equipment, software, and materials available in the printing industry. We are privileged to partner with the industry’s leaders: Heidelberg, EFI, Fuji, Kodak, Adobe, FedEx and UPS.
Together with our people, constantly tuned processes, and round-the-clock production, J&A is recognized for producing to the highest standards, in one of the fastest production cycles in the industry.
Electronic Prepress:
Getting your project started needs to be as seamless as possible. The latest versions of software assure that we’re ready for you. Files can be relayed via ftp, your proofs can be viewed or printed remotely, or we can output hi-res and lo-res proofs and send them overnight. Most preflight and proofing takes place within 24 hours after we receive all the necessary files. After approval, we send the files to our Fuji digital platemaker, and then onto the pressroom.

Offset Printing and Bindery:

Ink on paper: print at its most basic level has been around for a very long time. Presses today are as much computing power as they are rollers and gears, although a quality finished product is still dependent on a skilled craftsman’s visual and technical skills. The product produced is more consistent, and the setup times are much faster. J&A’s pressroom and bindery are made up primarily of Heidelberg technology, the longtime leader in printing equipment, whose name is synonymous with quality and performance. Walking through J&A, you’ll find Heidelberg equipment from start to finish. Our 29 press cylinders provide flexibility in scheduling and sizes, with 18”,

29” and 40” press sizes, up to 8 colors. Our 8-color Heidelberg Speedmaster is only one of few in the country with a web-roll sheeter. And quality control features are integrated into most equipment on our floor, to assure consistent results.
Our finishing department puts the final touches on your project: Cutting, folding, stitching, scoring, diecutting, perfing, laminating, collating, inserting, shrinkwrapping, and labeling. Multiple units provide scheduling flexibility for faster turnaround times.

Personalized, lasered mailings combine our offset printing capabilities, our digital VDP department, and our in-house lettershop to provide the one-on-one experience successfully used by leading marketers. Our lasering capabilities are powered by Kodak Digimasters, and our digital color printing by the Kodak NexPress. We have extensive experience in the demanding casino, insurance, conference, and automotive industries and their meticulous tiered setups and barcodes. And since there are many ways to utilize personalization, we can help guide you through your next project, to achieve the results you’re looking for and the highest return on your marketing investment.
