Executive Management
Scott Cadwallader, President and Owner
scadwallader@japrinting.com

Scott was first introduced to the world of printing while in high school. As the saying goes, he got ink under his finger nails and hasn't been able to get it out...

Completing his 30th year in the industry and 20th year owning J&A, Scott enjoys the hands-on approach and is quick to get involved with ideas to solve difficult projects.

Scott and his wife Jane have twin daughters, championship tennis players, attending Creighton University.
John Dessert, Chief Operating Officer

John’s first job out of college was as a credit analyst for Bandag, and then went to McGladrey’s where he obtained his CPA license.

With 26 years in the printing industry, John was the ‘first controller’ for two other printing plants, web and sheetfed, before becoming J&A’s first controller in 2004. In 2006 he began to oversee manufacturing and was named COO.

John played tennis for thirty years, but now plays golf often, and is still looking for his first hole-in-one. He is active in the Big Brother Big Sister program, and enjoys time with his ‘little brother.’

He serves the industry as an Advisory Board member for the PIA/GATF Sales & Marketing Executives. He and his wife, Karen, an established sumi-e artist, enjoy time with their kids and grandkids. He loves music, creative cooking and grilling, and his passion for golf netted his first hole-in-one in 2006.
Kevin Schlotterbeck, Plant Manager
kschlotterbeck@japrinting.com

Kevin started his printing career in 1979 as a truck driver for a sheetfed and web printing company, and soon moved into the pressroom as a press operator. It wasn’t long before he was managing the pressroom.

He joined J&A in 2001 as plant manager, and oversees all the printing operations throughout J&A. Kevin heads up J&A’s successful Lean Manufacturing program, bringing together employees and managers to streamline productivity and reduce waste.

Kevin coached high school wrestling for 15 years, but enjoys all sports, especially golf and fishing and the sports his children are involved in.

Carol has worked in printing since 1987 and with J&A since 2001, and she truly enjoys assisting customers with their projects from planning to conclusion. She works closely with a wide variety of print, mail and fulfillment contracts that include variable data to pick-and-pack.

Dave Dostal
ddostal@japrinting.com

Dave has been in the printing industry since 1987, first running die cutting and foil/embossing presses before starting in sales in 1988 for a finish bindery. He then moved to J&A sales in 1990, when J&A only had 1 and 2 color presses and 15 employees. Dave’s success has been a result of looking at ways to help large companies and corporations reduce their total print and fulfillment budget.

He enjoys his spare time grilling and golfing, and spending time with his wife and three daughters at their soccer and basketball games, and helping out with coaching.
Jennifer Jacobson
jjacobson@japrinting.com

Jennifer began her print career in 1990 at the University of Northern Iowa, where she studied Graphic Communications and Marketing, while working for various printers. As a result, she gained experience in prepress, desktop publishing, production, estimating, and customer service. At J&A since 1999, Jennifer services her customers with responsive problem-solving skills and attention to detail, and has had great success with loyalty mailing programs for the gaming industry.

Outside of J&A, Jim enjoys spending time with his children, traveling, golfing, and riding his lawn tractor, which he claims to help him meditate and be more creative. He even claims that some of his best project solutions have been formulated during a grass-clipping session.

In 1984 her love of printing lead her to a career in print, and joining J&A in 1996, Sheridan assists clients across the United States. Being able to fulfill the needs of many diverse clients is both challenging and rewarding, and has created many new and long lasting friendships.

After hours she retreats to her acreage or her cabin where she is able to spend time with her daughter and her son, his wife and her two grandchildren.
Theresa Hahn
thahn@japrinting.com

Prior to joining the sales team at J&A in 1995, Theresa worked as a Print & Media Buyer for a large advertising agency acting as a liaison between their vendors and the internal creative group; producing brochures, billboards, magazine ads, promotional items, and direct mailings. As a result, she has a great understanding of the print buyer’s point of view, and the workflow of ad agencies.

Her favorite activities off hours involve spending time with her two teenage daughters, and finding time for snow and water skiing, boating, golfing, traveling and other outdoor activities.
Karin Irvine, Sales Assistant
kirvine@japrinting.com

Karin plays an essential role in our sales effort, supporting the sales team’s daily activities. The favorite aspect of her day is meeting customers when she picks up or delivers creative materials, proofs, or samples. Otherwise, she is organizing and finding select samples, running reports, inputting customer data, and any other activity that would allow the sales team to spend more time focusing on customers.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, going to Kernels & RoughRider games, traveling, cross-stitch (including design), karaoke, and darts.
