Scott was first introduced to the world of printing while in high school. As the saying goes, he got ink under his finger nails and hasn't been able to get it out...
Completing his 30th year in the industry and 20th year owning J&A, Scott enjoys the hands-on approach and is quick to get involved with ideas to solve difficult projects.
Scott and his wife Jane have twin daughters, championship tennis players, attending Creighton University.

John Dessert, Chief Operating Officer

John’s first job out of college was as a credit analyst for Bandag, and then went to McGladrey’s where he obtained his CPA license.
With 26 years in the printing industry, John was the ‘first controller’ for two other printing plants, web and sheetfed, before becoming J&A’s first controller in 2004. In 2006 he began to oversee manufacturing and was named COO.
John played tennis for thirty years, but now plays golf often, and is still looking for his first hole-in-one. He is active in the Big Brother Big Sister program, and enjoys time with his ‘little brother.’

Randy Boyle, General Manager

Randy has spent more than the last 35 years involved in every aspect of the printing industry. At J&A as General Manager since 1994, he has helped lead the company through the development and implementation of each new technological stage, and actively integrates and improves systems at J&A, as well as customers’ systems. Randy oversees the development and management of the VDP and digital printing division.
He sits on the Executive Advisory Council and the Web Products Advisory Council for EFI Inc.
Randy enjoys boating and watching his daughter’s participation in the performing arts.

David ventured into printing in 1974 studying graphic arts at UNI. His career includes educator, estimator, customer service, web, sheetfed and digital print sales, and sales management in IA and MN. Heading up the sales team at J&A since 1999, David still gets to serve all those roles, and enjoys time spent with the sales team and customers.
He serves the industry as an Advisory Board member for the PIA/GATF Sales & Marketing Executives. He and his wife, Karen, an established sumi-e artist, enjoy time with their kids and grandkids. He loves music, creative cooking and grilling, and his passion for golf netted his first hole-in-one in 2006.

Kevin Schlotterbeck, Plant Manager

Kevin started his printing career in 1979 as a truck driver for a sheetfed and web printing company, and soon moved into the pressroom as a press operator. It wasn’t long before he was managing the pressroom.
He joined J&A in 2001 as plant manager, and oversees all the printing operations throughout J&A. Kevin heads up J&A’s successful Lean Manufacturing program, bringing together employees and managers to streamline productivity and reduce waste.
Kevin coached high school wrestling for 15 years, but enjoys all sports, especially golf and fishing and the sports his children are involved in.

Carol Myers

Carol has worked in printing since 1987 and with J&A since 2001, and she truly
enjoys assisting customers with their projects from planning to conclusion. She
works closely with a wide variety of print, mail and fulfillment contracts that
include variable data to pick-and-pack.
She and her husband love to travel, RV camp, and enjoy getting together with
their two daughters and son-in-laws and keeping up with their grandchildren,
and when they can, they join the cheering section for one of their daughter's
marathon running.

Dave Dostal

Dave has been in the printing industry since 1987, first running die cutting and
foil/embossing presses before starting in sales in 1988 for a finish bindery. He
then moved to J&A sales in 1990, when J&A only had 1 and 2 color presses and
15 employees. Dave’s success has been a result of looking at ways to help large
companies and corporations reduce their total print and fulfillment budget.
He enjoys his spare time grilling and golfing, and spending time with his wife
and three daughters at their soccer and basketball games, and helping out with
coaching.

Jennifer Jacobson

Jennifer began her print career in 1990 at the University of Northern Iowa,
where she studied Graphic Communications and Marketing, while working for
various printers. As a result, she gained experience in prepress, desktop
publishing, production, estimating, and customer service. At J&A since 1999,
Jennifer services her customers with responsive problem-solving skills and
attention to detail, and has had great success with loyalty mailing programs for
the gaming industry.
Jennifer spends her time out of the office with her husband and children, with
year-round sports activities and traveling.

Jim loves the ever-fascinating "Custom Manufacturing" aspect of printing, and
has made printing his life and profession since 1984. He has been very
successful helping a large variety of print and mail customers across the
country meet their goals. Jim sums up his fast-paced approach in one phrase:
service, service, service.
Outside of J&A, Jim enjoys spending time with his children, traveling, golfing,
and riding his lawn tractor, which he claims to help him meditate and be more
creative. He even claims that some of his best project solutions have been
formulated during a grass-clipping session.

John's comprehensive knowledge of the print process comes from sales
experience in the printing industry dating back to 1975. He joined the J&A sales
team in 2001. In addition to his local and regional customers, you may find John
with one of his many customers in Colorado, presenting his never-ending
creative solutions.
When needed, John is a volunteer scuba diver for the county’s Underwater
Search and Recovery Unit. John relaxes by fishing and woodworking, and he and
his wife enjoy traveling and following their son’s athletic events.

Sheridan Edmund

Sheridan’s career began in 1976 when she joined GBC traveling the state of Iowa
selling equipment and graphics/printing. In 1984 her love of printing lead her to
a career in print, and joining J&A in 1996, Sheridan assists clients across the
United States. Being able to fulfill the needs of many diverse clients is both
challenging and rewarding, and has created many new and long lasting
friendships.
After hours she retreats to her acreage or her cabin where she is able to spend
time with her daughter and her son, his wife and her two grandchildren.

Prior to joining the sales team at J&A in 1995, Theresa worked as a Print &
Media Buyer for a large advertising agency acting as a liaison between their
vendors and the internal creative group; producing brochures, billboards,
magazine ads, promotional items, and direct mailings. As a result, she has a
great understanding of the print buyer’s point of view, and the workflow of ad
agencies.
Her favorite activities off hours involve spending time with her two teenage
daughters, and finding time for snow and water skiing, boating, golfing, traveling
and other outdoor activities.

Karin Irvine, Sales Assistant

Karin plays an essential role in our sales effort, supporting the sales team’s daily
activities. The favorite aspect of her day is meeting customers when she picks up
or delivers creative materials, proofs, or samples. Otherwise, she is organizing
and finding select samples, running reports, inputting customer data, and any
other activity that would allow the sales team to spend more time focusing on
customers.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, going to Kernels &
RoughRider games, traveling, cross-stitch (including design), karaoke, and darts.
